Boys’ athlete of the week: Scott Shaw, a goalie at William Tennent, had 22 saves Tuesday as the Panthers ice hockey team won its second straight game in the Northern Scholastic Ice Hockey League by 9-3 over North Penn. Shaw, a junior, recorded 37 saves Nov. 4 in a 6-3 victory over Archbishop Wood. As a sophomore last year, Shaw helped Tennent to a 13-3 season and the league’s regular-season championship. “When a team puts 40 shots on goal, and the goalie has 37 saves, he has done a tremendous job,” Tennent coach Joe Paul said of Shaw’s performance against Wood.
