About Us:
How it all got started, that’s easy; COVID! Our employers required many if not all of us to work from home until restrictions were loosened and/or removed. Working from home offices provided some with more downtime than most, (me included). So, like the field of dreams it came to me, “If you build it, they will come.” I started the Southeastern Pennsylvania High School Hockey History group on Facebook and uploaded a few pieces of memorabilia to start. A few guys joined in and shared some of their collections, then a few more, then word started to spread, and we quickly grew into a thriving community of former players, coaches, league administrative officials and executives, referees, rink owners…… you name it, everyone came out of the woodwork. And what you see today is all thanks to every person who kept thier keepsakes, collections, and memorabilia from their childhood. The Flyers Cup History website was born.
THANK YOU TO ALL CONTRIBUTORS! :
I’d like to thank all who have contributed to the group over the years. It’s always fun to look back and reflect on the good old days when everything was much easier. It started with a few old newspaper clips and turned into a full-fledged historical archive with memorabilia spanning almost 45 years. We’ve covered and uncovered so much from the mid-’70s and the infancy of the Flyers Cup straight through the current date. We’ve only just chipped the tip of the iceberg. If you don’t see your name, I apologize, but please be sure to contact us if you’d like your name added to our list.
