After eighteen years, sixteen as head coach, the Kevin Vaitis run comes to an end. Vaitis has decided to retire from behind the bench to focus on family. Although he will no longer coach, he will continue in the program as coaching director.
Big shoes to fill…
Enter the Matt Stella era. He is no stranger to the North Penn Knights; he’s a former player, assistant captain in his junior year, and team captain as a senior and he carries an impressive resume. Similar to his playing career Stella’s been an assistant on the coaching staff since 2019. He’s well-versed in the program’s history. He was the leader of the team in 2014 and was awarded “Knight of the Year” when North Penn won their second SHSHL Title. He’s fifth all-time in scoring in team history with a career 131 points.
