John Brennan had accumulated 53 points by Christmas time with 23 goals and 30 assists in only 9 games. The team captain led the league’s most potent line of Ed Devine and his brother, Chris Brennan. The three combined had a total of 142 points at that time, Devine with 40, and Chris with 49. By Season’s end, Brennan had a total of 100 points, and 235 over the course of his Red Raiders career. Brennan and the Raiders coasted to a 7-2 win in the Class A Flyers Cup Tournament, the program’s first championship win. John was named the Bobby Clarke MVP and is the Daily Times Player of the Year.
