Pennsbury was eliminated from the Tier III state series when the Falcons dropped a 7-3 contest to Haverford High School on Tuesday at the Face-Off Circle in Warminster.”I only had two goals for this team to meet, and they met them both,” said Pennsbury coach Jack O’Donnell. “I wanted them to win the first game of the season and I wanted them to make the league playoffs.” The Falcons won that first game of the Lower Bucks Hockey League season with a 10-3 romp over Bishop Neumann, and they finished third behind Archbishop Ryan and Father Judge with a record of 10-4-4. “This is a very young team, and to advance as far as we did in the Tier III competition was ahead of schedule,” said O’Donnell. “This is a team that should be very good next season.” O’Donnell cited the play of sophomores Beau Orbin, Jeff Cussano, and Mike Maholic, along with freshman Barry Cerny. “We should be ready to go next season,” said O’Donnell. “Next year should be our year.”
