The off-again, on-again regional hockey tournament got the go-ahead once more yesterday, as Inter-County League President Jack Hunt said Archbishop Carroll would play, joining the three remaining teams next week. The tourney will resume with a doubleheader the night of April 24, most likely in the Face-Off Circle Rink in Warminster. Carroll, The Inquirer’s No. 1-ranked team, will meet Archbishop Ryan. William Tennent, the No. 2-ranked team, will meet Malvern Prep. Carroll and Tennent will be 2-0 in the double-elimination tourney. Malvern and Ryan will be 2-1. In the games played last week, Carroll’s brilliant Scott Chamness scored 10 goals in the Patriots’ two victories, but it was 5-foot-5-inch Al Washco of Malvern Prep who won the admiration of fans. Returning from an emergency appendectomy in only two weeks, the freshman forward scored a hat trick as Malvern staved off elimination by defeating Archbishop Wood, 9-6.
