Player of the year

The Radnor Red Raiders forward dominated in the Class A Flyers Cup Tournament. In four games, the often double and triple-teamed 5-foot-10 center scored eight goals while collecting just as many assists. He was the unanimous choice as the tournament’s most valuable player. Brennan led the Raiders to the Flyers Cup, scoring a team-leading 31 goals and 32 assists for 63 points. In the Flyers Cup championship game, Brennan scored three goals, along with two assists, to pace Radnor to a convincing 6-0 win against Cherokee (N.J.) in the Flyers’ Cup final. After the game, Brennan said, “Last year was tough.“ Hopefully, this year we can do it and come away with the state title. I won’t be able to take two straight finals losses; we have worked too hard for this.” And Brennan got his wish, scoring two points, a goal, and an assist to finish with a combined 9 goals and 9 assists in the tournament. All of this, and Brennan missed a part of the season with an injury. Chris Brennan is the Daily Times Player of the Year.
