1982 Flyers Cup Tournament – Brothers team up as hockey all-stars

Sunday, April 11, 1982 The outstanding brother goaltending combination of Joe and Michael Richter heads the sixth Inquirer all-Southeastern Pennsylvania hockey team.  The Richters helped Germantown Academy to the Flyers Cup and a 28-1 record this past season. They were aided by J.J. Reydel and defenseman Charley Wurts, who also are honored today as part of a team chosen with the aid of area hockey officials.  Joe Richter is a repeat selection, along with forwards Derek Lynch and ed Romanowski of St. James, Bob Lawrence of Bishop Egan and Phil Chamness of Archbishop Carroll and defenseman Doug Bowman of West Chester and Rob Walker of William Tennent. Tim Brosious of Lower Merion, who made the team as a defenseman last year, made it as a forward this time.  The Richters are one of the few brother combinations honored simultaneously by the Inquirer in any sport.
