PITTSBURGH – While Council Rock and Haverford claimed the Class AA and A state ice hockey titles, Monsignor Bonner was out- gunned in the AAA game. Meadville used its physical power to push past Bonner, 9-3, yesterday at the Civic Arena. One eight-minute stretch ended Bonner’s chances. From the three- minute mark in the first period until five minutes into the second, Meadville outscored Bonner, 6-1. “That really did it. We had to stop their breakouts and we had to play conservatively to win this game,” Bonner coach Ted Dolan said. “But we gave them quite a few breaks and we just didn’t play conservatively enough.” Mike Jacobs scored two goals and Angelo La Buaono had the other for Bonner.
