Last Monday night, however. Radnor ousted Cedar Cliff 13-0 in a Flyers Cup Class A semifinal game that displayed all of the Red Raiders’ weapons. The Red Raiders will now face Eastern Regional (N.J.). which defeated Central Bucks East 3-0 Monday night. The contest will be for the Flyers Cup championship and will take place at Face Off Circle in Warminster on Wednesday (7 p.m.) in a game that was played after The Suburban went to press. Radnor has already clinched a berth in the Pennsylvania championship game against Serra Catholic, the Penguins Cup winner. “We have a lot of depth on our team,” said Red Raiders forward Austin Cohen, who had a goal and two assists. “The Brennans are awesome players, but our other lines are always working and tonight we put a few in.” “A few may have been an understatement as there have been years when the Red Raiders football team struggled to rack up 13 points in a game. Anyway, Radnor wasted no time in getting the scoring barrage started when John Brennan finished off a pair of nice passes by Chris Brennan and Ed Devine for a 1-0 lead. The tally came just two minutes, and 51 seconds into the game, and was the beginning of a period that was completely dominated by the Red Raiders. Dan Brillman followed Brennan’s goal with a power-play score later in the period. while Chris Brennan banged home a Bryan Ritti rebound with just eight seconds left in the period. Nick Ryder scored the final goal of the first period for the Red Raiders with just one second left on the clock. The most impressive statistic of the first period wasn’t the score, though, but the shots on goal. Radnor outshot Cedar Cliff, 20-1. The Colts barely got a look at what hit them. “We talked about coming out flying and about getting on top of them in the first period and we were able to do that,” said Radnor’s Doug Von Allmen. The second period was just as awful for Cedar Cliff as Radnor kept the pressure on Colts goalie Jesse Minium. Devine added a power-play goal just 1:14 into the second period when he flipped a shot past Minium and Von Allmen made Minium’s night a little worse with another tally just 24 seconds later. At this point in the game, the Red Raiders must have realized they didn’t have a shorthanded goal yet so Lee Sinkow filled that void. Ryder added his second goal of the game just 1.13 later “We’ve been thinking about this all season long and working hard for this.” said Ryder, who finished with four points.

By Chuck Smith
Wayne Suburban

March 28, 2002 WEST GOSHEN – Anyone who has witnessed a Radnor game this season can attest that the John Brennan-Chris Brennan-Ed Devine line supplies […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3,35

post-5367","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-stories","category-2002-flyers-cup

<meta name="description" content="March 28, 2002 WEST GOSHEN - Anyone who has witnessed a Radnor game this season can attest that the John Brennan-Chris Brennan-Ed Devine line supplies most of the Red Raiders' scoring.
