Boys’ athlete of the week:<\/strong> Ed Sherwood<\/a>, a 6-foot, 3-inch defenseman, scored five goals, four in the last period on Jan. 8, helping Abington to defeat first-place William Tennent, 7-5, in the Northern Scholastic Ice Hockey League. In addition to his five goals, Sherwood, a former player with the Little Flyers, had one assist and played excellent defense. Abington, which is in third place in the league with a 6-2-1 record, played the game with six players, the minimum allowable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
